SHOULD A GOVERNMENT CHANGE THE RULES TO INCLUDE RELIGIOUS SYMBOLS?
Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls fasten your seatbelt, the Quebec religious symbol law is still in the news and today i decided to get out of my cave and comment publicly on it.
I understand that there are many more important issues like pandemic, inflation, monkey pox etc. to worry about, however, today is my day to comment on the religious symbol law.
I came here many years ago and found this place to be one of the best places in the world to live. Quebec is a free, open and very tolerant society where everyone is free to practice any religion and maintain cultural values.
Quebec like any other country have established rules as to what public officials like judges, police, military, etc. should wear while on the job and rightfully so.
People are entitled to their own opinions and desires, however, it is not right to move to a country and expect the country to change the rules to accommodate their cultural norms and values.
In my opinion, those that are NOT ready to conform to the norms and values of a society should think twice prior to moving there or choose a place where they can make up their own rules.
As humans we are fallible, and we have reasons why we believe in doing things our way, however, we can practice our religions and maintain our cultural values in our homes, places of worship and in places were it is acceptable.
When it comes to government rules and regulations, those take precedence over individual wants and desires.
To be continued........
Feel free to comment. Thanks.
